The beaches of Tróia provide the habitat for thousands of species and home to the only resident pod of dolphins on the Iberian Peninsula.
The Marina and nine of the beaches claim the Gold Quality Award, which is given to those beaches that have enjoyed good water quality consecutively over the last five years and are therefore considered to have reached the highest bathing water standards.

COMPORTA
Comporta is considered one of Portugal and Alentejo’s best beaches. It has moderate waves and crystal-clear water. It is situated in the Carvalhal district, in Grândola.
PEGO
Pego has a unique natural beauty with excellent infrastructure. It is famous for its extensive sandy beaches and sand dunes. It is also located in Grândola, in Carvalhal.
TRÓIA MAR
Tróia Mar is the first beach situated on the Atlantic side of the Peninsula with an awe-inspiring view across the Arrábida Mountains. Here you can rent paddle-boats and take sailing classes.
ABERTA NOVA
This vast sandy beach extends from Sines to Tróia. The landscape is almost wild and is surrounded by sand dunes and pine groves, linking land and sea in a magnificent setting.
CARVALHAL
Carvalhal has extensive sands and enormous dunes where cane-plantations, pine trees and aloe are in abundance. Stork nests are to be found everywhere in this region. Ideal for surfing and kite surfing.
ATLÂNTICA
Atlântica is also known as Praia de Soltróia (Soltróia Beach). It is situated in the middle of the Peninsula and is 2 km wide. The sea in this area is calm and the sand is fine.
TRÓIA GALÉ
Tróia Galé has very extensive sands that invite the visitor to contemplate the beauty of the Arrábida Mountains and surrounding sand dunes. If you’re lucky you might get to see the Sado dolphins.
MELIDES
Melides, situated on the Alentejo shore beside a lake, is considered Portugal’s largest beach. Ideal for paragliding here you can watch the most beautiful sunsets.
BICO DAS LULAS
Bico das Lulas is a remote Atlantic beach with white sands, where the dunes and the sea invite you to spend a relaxing day on the beach.
